Fresh Meat Orientation 8/24

Roller derby friendship snake
All skater levels worked together today to get low while skating. Here we’re learning how to do the Friendship Snake

Once again Southshire Roller Derby is hosting a fresh meat orientation night for people who are interested in learning to play the challenging game of flat track roller derby.

We will loan you the gear you need (although we recommend purchasing and bringing your own mouth guard) including skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, and helmet. We’ll cover the basics of derby and talk about costs and time commitment.

Then we’ll get you on those skates and show you a bit about how to skate well and introduce you to our training program.

We’re striving to have at least one if not two teams (of 10 to 14 skaters) ready for competition in the spring of 2015.

Attending our orientation is absolutely free and comes with an hour or more of roller skating

RSVP to southshirerollerderby@gmail.com for directions and to give us an idea of what size skates and gear you require.
