From April through October Southshire Roller Derby has a ladies team ready to play against regional teams at home and away. Look for us in 2015 to be playing against the following teams:
Based at Interskate 91 in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, Pair O’Dice has been competing throughout the northeast since 2011. Many of the original skaters on the league hailed from Pioneer Valley Roller Derby (Northampton, MA) and some of their most veteran skaters and coaches are still with them. But with their roller rink affiliation and base in an area rich with the transition of college students and professors, their league has regular turnover. Our Battle Cats will be playing them both home and away in 2015. The Rollers are currently ranked 772nd in the United States in Flat Track Stats.

HARD plays their home bouts at the fun and family friendly Nomad’s Adventure Quest in Windsor Locks, Connecticut but they practice a number of area rinks. Also established in 2011 by a former Pioneer Valley skater, HARD grew quickly and is large enough to have both an “A-team” and a “B-team.” HARD became a WFTDA apprentice in 2013 and made full WFTDA status in the same year. Like most larger leagues, in order to maintain a vital travel team, HARD’s B-team, the Beat City Bedrockers is a place for skaters to grow and develop their game. The Battle Cats will take on the Bedrockers both at home and away with our first game at Hartford April 18, 2015. The Bedrockers are ranked 922nd in the US according to Flat Track Stats.

Monadnock practices in Antrim and Henniker, New Hampshire. Of all the teams we’ll be facing this season, Monadnock is the only league with an active juniors team the Mad Miss Fits. The Battle Cats will face the Mad Knockers at home in September. Established in 2009 they are ranked 865th in the US according to Flat Track Stats.

Originally founded in 2009 as a junior league, Elm City transitioned to a women’s league in 2010. Based and practicing in Keene, NH, Elm City competes in Brattleboro, Vermont in the summer. Co-founder Bitches Bruze retired from Elm City at the end of their 2014 season while co-founder Don’t Care Bear maintains dual membership with both leagues. Southshire Roller Derby skaters were active in helping with Elm City’s games in 2014 and occasionally head over to Keene for practice. The Battle Cats will face off against the Damez in Brattleboro in August. The Damez are currently ranked 831st in the US according to Flat Track Stats.
